Baby Group Program

This program is developed for parents of children aged 0 to 18 months and provides an excellent opportunity to interact with other parents, as well as increase their parenting knowledge and care giving skills. 

Thursdays from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. 

Kids Have Stress Too

This interactive workshop facilitated by the Nova Scotia Health Authority focuses on the important role of parents and caregivers in helping young children learn to manage stress. The child’s ability to cope with stress in the early years has consequences for physical and emotional health throughout life. This workshop offers practical tools for recognizing stress and supporting children aged 3 – 9 years to build resilience.

Promoting Positive Behaviour in Children

This 8 week workshop facilitated by the Nova Scotia Health Authority is for any parent, caregiver or guardian of children aged 3 – 12 years that are non-compliant, oppositional or stubborn. It especially beneficial to those families with children diagnosed with ADHD, ADD and ODD or who are simply looking for education, support or assistance in strengthening their parenting skills.

Promoting Positive Behaviour in Teens

This workshop facilitated by the Nova Scotia Health Authority is designed for any parent who has difficulties managing their teen’s behaviour. This course is especially helpful for those who have teens diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD). The sessions are facilitated by Mental Health and Addiction Services, Child and Youth Program. The program will assist parents in understanding the basis of teen defiance, rebuild positive communication, and teach behaviour management strategies to regain positive parenting authority in the home.
