The Suicide Awareness Training – Ask, Care, Escort (SAT-ACE) Course is an educational program designed to prepare Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members to recognize, respond to, and mitigate the incidence of suicide and deliberate self-harm within the military community. Using the ACE Model, the course provides knowledge and skill-building opportunities through discussion, demonstration, small group activities, and role-play practice sessions, with the goal of enhancing awareness and developing life skills for non-professionals.
While the program builds capacity for suicide awareness and intervention, it is not a form of treatment and may not be suitable for individuals currently experiencing severe mental health challenges.
If you are currently experiencing suicidal ideation or thoughts of self harm please reach out to CAF Health Services, Suicide Crisis helpline 9-8-8, National Suicide Prevention Line 1-833-456-4566, or https://www.saskatchewan.ca/residents/health/accessing-health-care-services/mental-health-and-addictions-support-services/suicide-prevention
