CAF FITNESS GAMES 2026

To bring the CAF Community together in a healthy environment (in-person and online) and promote physical performance and Operational Readiness in a fun, inclusive, competitive and encouraging atmosphere.

What is the CAF Fitness Games?

The CAF Fitness Games is a 3-week online fitness competition that tests a variety of components, encourages healthy and friendly competition across the CAF and promotes Physical Performance and Operational Readiness.

1 workout will be released per week over a 3-week period (June 5, 12 & 19, 2026). From the moment each workout is released, participants will have 1 week (7 days) to complete their version of the workout (within their respective divisions) and submit their score.

This process will repeat until the end of the 3-week period (June 26, 2026), at which time, we will declare the winners of each division and draw for the prizes outlined on the CAF Fitness Games page (below).

This competition highlights the fact that no matter where you are in your fitness journey, there is a way for you to thrive with 3 divisions to choose from:

Performance – For experienced athletes that have extensive experience in Functional Fitness. Someone who has perhaps competed before and is perhaps consistently at the front of the pack in group classes.

Fitness – For athletes that are active and attend PT regularly and are able to keep up with most group classes even if it means they have not mastered all the movements.

Foundations – For athletes that are starting out and have little to no experience with fitness. That always strive to be better with every class but are still at the beginning of their journey. “Weekend warriors” may come to mind.

Same workouts... same movement patterns, different intensities.

What components of fitness will be tested?

Endurance, Strength, Power, Speed, Coordination, Agility, Balance, and Accuracy.

Who can sign up?

The CAF Fitness Games is open to everyone! Military of all branches and trades, Veterans, Civilians. If you are a Canadian citizen and over the age of majority, you are eligible.

Which Division Should I Choose?

Choosing the correct division ensures a fair, safe, and competitive experience for everyone. Athletes should select the highest division they can reasonably complete according to the standards below.

Performance Division

Choose Performance if you can:

  • Perform full wall walks to the wall with control
  • Complete bar muscle-ups under fatigue
  • Perform chest-to-bar pull-ups consistently
  • Handle moderate-to-heavy barbell cycling (95/65 lb)
  • Perform double-unders confidently
  • Lift a moderate-to-heavy complex under pressure

You should NOT choose Performance if:

  • You cannot complete bar muscle-ups
  • You must significantly reduce range of motion on wall walks
  • You are unsure you can complete multiple reps of advanced gymnastics

Performance is designed for:
Athletes with strong gymnastics capacity, confident barbell skills, and competitive Functional Fitness experience.

Fitness Division

Choose Fitness if you can:

  • Perform shortened-range wall walks
  • Complete pull-ups or jumping pull-ups
  • Perform chest-to-bar pull-ups inconsistently or at low volume
  • Cycle a moderate barbell (75/55 lb)
  • Complete single-unders efficiently
  • Perform structured gymnastics under fatigue

You should NOT choose Fitness if:

  • You are unable to safely perform pull-ups or jumping pull-ups
  • You cannot maintain movement standards even when scaled

Fitness is designed for:
Athletes transitioning toward Performance skills who want a competitive challenge without advanced gymnastics requirements.

Foundations Division

Choose Foundations if you can:

  • Perform ring rows instead of pull-ups
  • Perform incline wall walks or modified wall walks
  • Move comfortably with light dumbbells or bodyweight
  • Step through burpees and box movements

Or

  • Are newer to Functional Fitness-style training or competition

You should NOT choose Foundations if:

  • You routinely train Performance or Fitness movements
  • You can perform kipping pull-ups, chest-to-bar, or bar muscle-ups

Foundations is designed for:
Newer athletes, those returning from time away, or athletes prioritizing safe participation and skill development.

Important Division Rules

Athletes must remain in the same division for all workouts

Movement substitutions are not permitted outside of prescribed standards

Event PSP staff reserve the right to move athletes to an appropriate division if standards cannot be met

Choosing a lower division to gain advantage (“sandbagging”) may result in disqualification

Still Unsure? Ask Yourself These Questions:

  • Can I perform every movement as written in this division?
  • Can I maintain proper range of motion even when fatigued?
  • Am I choosing the division that challenges me without compromising safety?

When in doubt, move up — competition is about testing capacity, not avoiding it.

2026 CAF Fitness Games
