Why do I have to provide indoor shoes and a change of clothes for the Before & After School program when they already have these items in my child’s school classroom?
The Before & After School programs are run by the PMFRC as a third-party operator and staff do not have access to the school classrooms. Children require indoor shoes in the event of a fire drill or evacuation and so they can participate in gym activities safely. Extra clothes are required for messy play and during the winter months when there is a chance of being wet from playing outdoors.
-
When my child turns 13 years old, are they able to complete the school year or are they no longer allowed to attend the program?
Yes, your child is able to complete the school year with the program if they turn 13 during the school year (September to June).
-
Why does the daily rate for care change when my child turns 6 years old?
The PMFRC has been enrolled with the Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care (CWELCC) agreement since 2022 and has continued working with the Province of Ontario and the Government of Canada for funding towards offering fee reductions for children under the age of six years, enrolled in our programs. The CWELCC system, offers licensed childcare providers to participate in the program to help reduce fees to ensure childcare is more affordable for families with children under the age of six. When your child reaches the maximum age for receiving coverage for fee reductions under the CWELCC agreement, your child will be billed our regular full daily rate fee with the PMFRC.
