The Veteran Family Program (VFP) supports medically released Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) Veterans and their families by providing continued access to the Military Family Services and specialized transition supports that help families navigate post-service life. 

The VFP is available to medically released CAF Veterans and their family members, and bereaved families who were experiencing a medical release. 

The VFP recognizes that medical release affects the entire family. Through a family-first approach, eligible families can access information, referrals, community connections, transition resources, and personalized navigation support to help them successfully adapt to post-service life.

A VFPC is available at the local Military Family Resources Centres to provide navigation support, information, referrals, and access to local and national VFP transition services.

No formal application is required to access the Veteran Family Program. Eligible individuals and families can connect directly with a Veteran Family Program Coordinator, an MFRC, or the Family Information Line. 

Yes, Military Family Resource Centres and the Family Information Line can help connect eligible medically released Veterans and families with services, resources, and supports regardless of location.

Yes, many VFP supports, resources, and referrals can be accessed remotely. Connect with online, self-access resources at www.cfmws.ca/vfp, contact your local VFPC via email or phone, or connect with the Family Information Line. 

Through the VFP, eligible medically released Veterans and their families can access Military Family Services, personalized navigation support, information and referrals, and tailored transition services tailored to their unique needs.  

The Family Information Line is a free, confidential, bilingual service offering information, support, referrals, reassurance, and crisis management 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.  

Eligible medically released Veterans and their families have access to national VFP supports, including the Veteran Family Telemedicine Service and the Veteran Family Journal, as well as other resources designed to support health, well-being, and successful transition.
