Fortis Fitness App FAQ

Account and access

Using the app day-to-day

Wearables and data

  • Which wearables are compatible?
Fortis supports major wearable platforms. Check Menu → Settings → Accounts Sync for the current supported list.
  • My wearable isn’t syncing. What can I try?
    • Ensure the wearable’s native app (e.g., Garmin, Apple Health, Google Fit) shows updated data.
    • In Fortis, go to Menu → Settings → Account Sync.
    • Toggle the connection Off/On and re authorise.
    • Shut down the Fortis app and re-open it if sync is still not working.
    • If issues persist, contact Technical Support by tapping Menu → Support.
  • Can I choose what data is shared with the app?
Yes. In Menu → Settings → Account Sync, you can choose which data types to share with Fortis. When you initiate account sync, you can enable or disable individual data types (sleep, steps, heart rate, etc.) you want to allow.
  • How often does my wearable sync?
Wearables sync in real time or in near real time once syncing is configured.

Offline use

  • How do I prepare for a deployment or remote posting?
    • Open your training plan.
    • Tap a workout, then tap the three horizontal dots “...”, and then “Download for Offline.”
    • Confirm all weeks and media files (videos/demos) have finished downloading.
    • Once you have downloaded all the workouts you want, return to the home screen, tap “Menu” and select “Switch to Offline Mode.” You will only be able to see downloaded content when in offline mode.
    • Run autoplay sessions as usual; log sets, reps, time, and notes.
    • To go online when connectivity returns, tap the “Go Online” button.
  • What works offline?
Guided sessions, exercise demos, activity logs, notes, and autoplay walkthroughs. Content requiring updates (messages, new plans, data sync) will wait until you reconnect.
  • Will I lose my offline data?
No. All entries are stored locally and sync automatically once you reconnect. If there are duplicate entries, the app will prompt you to review before saving.

Privacy and security

  • Is my data secure?
Yes. Fortis is developed exclusively for CAF members with privacy and security at the core. Data is handled under CFMWS security protocols.
  • Who can see my information?

PSP professionals you are connected with can see only the information needed to support your coaching and training plan.

A limited number of CFMWS Headquarters Fortis platform team members may also access data for system management and research purposes, but not on an individual or identifiable basis. Data is only reviewed in aggregated or anonymized form. You remain in control of what data types you share through your device and app settings.

  • What personal information does the app collect?
Basic account details (email, service number for verification), training logs, and optional wearable data. You can limit or remove data sharing at any time.
  • Is my information gathered on the app shared with my chain of command?
No. Your data is not shared with your chain of command, and it is never shared in a way that could identify you as an individual. Only aggregated, anonymous data may be provided to the CAF to help understand general fitness trends – not individual performance or personal information.

Working with a PSP professional

  • How do I start working with a PSP fitness professional?
If you are not currently using PSP fitness services, you can contact your local PSP  team to learn about their availability and the services they offer. They will confirm whether a PSP professional is available to support you and, if so, will arrange to link you with them through the app. Once you are assigned a PSP fitness professional, they will request access to your profile, and you will gain access to their programs and services.
  • What can I do in the app once I'm connected with a PSP fitness professional?
When you are linked with a PSP fitness professional, you can:
    • View your activity calendar and training plan
    • Track your goals and monitor progress charts
    • Book appointments and send secure in-app messages, including images and videos
    • Complete and store forms and assessments in your client file
  • Where do I find documents and forms?
Documents can be found in two different places.
    • If your PSP professional sends you a document to complete, it can be found in the messenger feature.
    • If you are completing an electronic pre-populated form, tap the “+”, then Fill a document → choose the document → fill in the fields.
Completed documents and any other files shared between you and your PSP professional, tap “Menu” and then “Files” to view what is stored on your profile.
  • Can my PSP professional adjust my training program?
Yes. Once connected, your PSP professional can assign or update plans based on your goals and progress.
