Testimonial Interviews

While the National Defence Fire Service (NDFS), along with many other organizations, is actively working to minimize firefighters’ exposure to carcinogens, the reality is that firefighting inherently involves exposure to hazardous substances. Unfortunately, this occupational risk may increase the likelihood of developing various types of cancer throughout a firefighter’s career.

As part of the NDFS Carcinogen Exposure Reduction Program (CERP), one of our objectives is to highlight the incredible stories of resilience and determination demonstrated by NDFS members who have faced cancer. We invite you to show your support by taking the time to learn about their journeys, while also reinforcing the critical steps firefighters can take to help reduce exposure and protect their long-term health.  Be your #1 advocate!
