Youth Sports
We offer a variety of sports for children and youth from ages four to fifteen over three seasons; fall, winter and spring. While there is always something for each age group, sports change with seasons and trends.
If there’s a sport you are interested in and you don’t see it listed, please feel free to contact us and we will see what can be organized. New schedules for each season are posted approximately two months before the season begins.
Sports are offered at both the Recreation Complex and South Side Community Centre in the early evenings. Each class runs from 30 minutes to an hour, depending on age group and the sport being played.
We have a little something for everyone from ages 4 to 15. Be sure to get in on the fun and join in something now!

RESPECT | DISCIPLINE | COURAGE | SELF-CONFIDENCE | CONCENTRATION | COORDINATION | SPORTSMANSHIP
The BJJ & MT youth programs are challenging, technical and fun. Students are taught the basic techniques and fundamental principles that form the foundation of BJJ and MT. A key element of both of these programs is “bully-proofing” our students through the application of effective self-defence techniques and strategies. In addition to the core values and principles inherent within our youth programs, the Youth Instructors are committed to the HIGH FIVE® philosophy of children in recreation and sport. We have a responsibility to provide activities and environments where children feel safe, welcome, competent, connected, empowered and special. The program ensures that our youth curriculums follow the Principles of Healthy Child Development (PHCD), through the HIGH FIVE® accreditation program.
Youth Brazilian Jiu Jitsu & Muay Thai - Beginners (Ages 5-15)This white belt class is for youth who are new to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The class is designed to introduce the students to the basic techniques and concepts of BJJ. It is designed to help kids build self-confidence, respect, courage, discipline, sportsmanship, concentration and coordination. The techniques taught allow a smaller, weaker person to defend themselves against a larger, stronger opponent through the use of leverage and angles. Our instructors teach effective self-defence while making each class challenging, technical and fun. Through martial arts your child will develop skills that will last him/her for a lifetime. Youth Brazilian Jiu Jitsu - Advanced (Ages 7-15)
This class is for youth who have obtained their Jr. Yellow Belt or higher. It is the next step in building upon the techniques and discipline learned in the Beginner and Intermediate Young Warriors Programs. More advanced techniques will be taught with a review of the basics, including a specific component focused upon tournament preparation.
