  • Ratio &Safety

    Ratio

    1. The ratio per group is 1:30, meaning a maximum of 30 children per physical education teacher.
    2. If the group is larger, additional lifeguards must be assigned.

Swim Test and Life Jacket Use
Before the activity, each school must obtain parental consent regarding the following:

    • I request that my child wear a PFD at all times during pool activities
    • I authorize my child to take the swim test
The swim test is used to assess the following skills.
    • Conducted by our lifeguards, the child must meet these requirements to pass the swim test and wear a wristband authorizing them to swim without a PFD.
    • Regardless of parental consent, if the child does not complete the swim test, wearing a PFD will be mandatory.
