Bagotville - Fitness training classes

The PSP fitness team offers expert-led group classes for all levels to help you improve your physical condition. 

For information on specific sessions for your unit (unit PT), please contact your sports officer or consult the fitness sharepoint (on DWAN only). 

Here is all the information about group classes open to all CFB workers.

  • Get strenght !

    Specific to the FORCE test!

    Get ready to take on the FORCE assessment challenge! This group class is designed to improve your physical fitness according to common military requirements. Through specific and progressively more difficult exercises, you will develop your endurance, strength, and power, allowing you to excel in each of the four events.

    Schedule: Every Tuesday from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. and every other Thursday from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.
    Location: Gymnasium
    Audience: Military personnel only
    Registration: No registration required

    In addition, every other Thursday, we offer FORCE test practice. This will allow you to become more familiar with the standards and optimize your performance.

  • FORCE Practice

    Are you looking to prepare for or improve your performance on the FORCE fitness evaluation?
     
    Every other Thursday, we offer FORCE test practice sessions, allowing you to become familiar with the different components and their standards. Take advantage of these sessions to optimize your preparation and perform at your best during your FORCE test.
     
    Dates: May 14 and 28, June 11 and 25, July 9 and 23, August 6 and 20
    Time: 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.
    Location: Recreation Center Gymnasium
    Audience: Military personnel only

  • Military Swim
    Are you a member of the military looking to do lap swimming?
     
    Military swim is a lap swim format offered exclusively to military personnel, aimed at supporting autonomous training and maintaining physical fitness. Unsupervised, this time allows you to swim at your own pace in a structured and focused environment.
     
    Schedule: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 6:15 to 7:30 a.m.
    Location: Bagotville Recreation Center Pool
    Audience: Military personnel only
    Registration: No registration required. Purchase a ticket at the Recreation Centre front desk on the day of the session.
  • Lane Swim
    Would you like to swim freely to train, relax, or maintain your fitness level?
     
    Lap swim at the Bagotville Recreation Centre pool is offered as an unsupervised open swim format, allowing everyone to progress at their own pace. Accessible to both military personnel and civilians, this service provides dedicated swim lanes for continuous practice in a safe and respectful environment.
     
    Schedule: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and Thursdays from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m
    Location: Bagotville Recreation Center Pool
    Audience: Military and civilians (employees and families)
    Registration: No registration required. Purchase a ticket at the Recreation Centre front desk on the day of the session.
  • MOMFIT
    Are you a new mom or expecting to become one?
     
    As part of the pre- and postnatal program (PNP3), the reconditioning program (CPA) at Bagotville supports you through your pregnancy or postpartum journey in a healthy, confident, and self-paced way with MOMFIT. Supervised by Exercise Specialists trained in pre- and postnatal fitness, you will receive safe and supportive guidance at every stage of your journey.
     
    The program includes:
    • Adapted group training sessions
    • Personalized follow-up during pregnancy or postpartum (fatigue, questions, recommendations)
     
    Schedule: Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m.
    Location: Recreation Center (Tuesdays) and Arena parking lot (Thursdays)

    Additionally, baby equipment is available during classes (strollers, mats, playpens, and chairs).
  • Adapted Aqua Cardio
    An aquatic lane dedicated to low-impact cardiovascular training, designed for military members with physical limitations or injuries. This session allows you to safely maintain or improve your cardiovascular fitness. An Exercise Specialist (ES) from the Adapted Physical Activity (APA/CPA) program will be present to supervise and provide individualized support as needed.
     
    Schedule: Wednesdays from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.

  • Running group

    Run towards your goals!
    A dynamic training session focused on developing endurance, speed, and running technique, adapted to all levels. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced runner, you’ll find your pace in a motivating and structured environment.
     
    Schedule: Every Tuesday from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m.
    Location: Arena parking lot
    In case of heavy rain, the session will be moved to the Recreation Centre (treadmills). Check the private Facebook group or the PSP Facebook page for updates.
    Audience: Military and civilians
    Registration: No registration required
     
    BONUS: Ask the on-site PSP staff to join the private Bagotville Running Group Facebook page for information on training locations and running resources.

     

  • YEM (yoga-stretching-mobility)

    Reduce muscle tension with a combination of yoga poses, stretches, and joint mobility exercises. This class is ideal for complementing your workout, promoting recovery, and preventing injuries. Treat your body to some active relaxation in a soothing environment.

    Schedule: Tuesdays from 12:00 to 12:45 p.m. and Fridays from 7:30 to 8:15 a.m.
    Location: Multipurpose Room 1
    Audience: Tuesday: Military and civilians; Friday: Military only
    Registration: No registration required. Pick up a ticket at the recreation center reception desk on the day of the class.
