Samantha Woods – NPF Administrator
In one of those “let the universe figure it out” moments is how Sam ended up working for PSP in Dundurn. She is originally from Edmonton, AB where her education was in Hospitality Management. After completing that program at NAIT, she got into finance with ATB and was with them for 10 years. Sam was able to complete her Yoga Teacher training as well. With this very eclectic set of skills, she decided to move to Dundurn for love. When interviewing to teach yoga at the Gym, it was suggested she apply for the NPF Admin position. In her personal time, she is a foster parent with the Saskatoon Dog Rescue and have both a dog and a cat. She has 3 children from my partner so they have a very busy house. She loves to garden, crochet, play D&D and create neat things with her partner who makes props for film and tv in his spare time. She manages all clear ins when they come to PSP and loves telling our members about all of our programs, rebates and cool things in the area to see and do. She is happy to answer any questions from things on base to where the best place to get a good burger in Saskatoon is (PS. It is The Thirsty Scholar with their Skirt Burger).
Katie Elke – Community Recreation Supervisor
Katie was born and raised in Saskatoon, SK. She brings a strong sense of prairie community pride to everything she does. With a background in recreation and tourism management, Katie is passionate about building community through inclusive, engaging programs that support military members and their families. Community engagement through recreation is extremely important to her—believing it creates space for connection, belonging, and well-being. Katie has led everything from large-scale events to outdoor adventures and is always looking for ways to bring people together. Outside of work, she is a mom of two, an outdoor enthusiast, and a big fan of puzzles and games. Whether Katie is planning programs or exploring the outdoors with her kids, she loves helping people connect, recharge, and have fun.
Desirae Engensperger - Facility Clerk
Desirae is a military spouse from British Columbia. She and her husband have 3 amazing children, 2 boys and a young daughter. They enjoy spending time together as a family and being outdoors as much as they can. She loves the mountains (even though they are very hard to find here). She enjoys making candles and selling them in her free time. Her favorite thing about her job is learning new things and the awesome group of people she works with. Plus meeting all the interesting military members and learning about the different bases they come from is very rewarding.
