Program/Club Eligibility

PSP Membership and Facility Eligibility

The below eligibility criteria outlines what organization participants will be categorized into and determine what programs members can attend.


Regular Members:

  • Canadian Forces Members: currently serving Regular and Reserve Force personnel and their families.
  • Members of Foreign Military currently serving with the CAF and their families.
  • Veterans (Former members of the CAF who have successfully completed Basic Military Training and have been honorably discharged) and their families.


Ordinary Members:

  • Pensioners and current staff and their families of: 
  • DND Public Service Employees;
  • CFB Esquimalt Fire Fighters; 
  • Staff of NPF; 
  • Staff of MFRC, 
  • Staff of DRDC and DCC; 
  • RCMP; and
  • Canadian Coast Guards.


Associate Members:

  • Anyone not listed in the above categories or do not qualify under the definition for families.


Definition of Families

  • Member’s spouse or common-law partner who resides with the member at the member’s place of duty or who, if living separately, is doing so for work related or military reasons.
  • A relative by blood, marriage, common-law partnership, adoption legally or, is normally a resident with the member and for whom the member may claim a personal exemption under the Income tax Act;
  • A child or legal ward of the member who is under the age of 18.
  • A child over the age of 18 attending full-time school (College, University, Trades School) and is under the age of 26.
  • A family member who is permanently residing with the member, but who is precluded from qualifying as a dependent under the Income tax Act because the family member receives a pension.
  • Youth under age 13 must be accompanied by a responsible adult, unless enrolled in a program designed specifically to meet their developmental level.
