During this half-day workshop, which is offered four times a year, attendees will learn how to stay safe when they are at home alone, and what to do when they feel unsafe or in an emergency. As well, a basic first aid session is included to increase your child's knowledge and skills to successfully navigate minor situations requiring first aid. It is recommended that youth enroll in a Standard First Aid course to fully develop these skills.
Military connected families are given priority to register for the Home Alone Program; youth of civilian families can register and be added to the waitlist. Civilian families will be notified three days prior to the course if a space is available for their youth to attend, at which time they can accept or decline the space.
Please note, the cost for this course is $20.00, if this is a barrier to accessing the course please contact the Kingston Military Family Resource Centre (KMFRC) at 613.541.5010 x271-5195 and ask to speak to a Military Family Navigator.
