Releasing from the Canadian Armed Forces — especially due to medical reasons — can bring unexpected emotional, financial, and identity changes for both the member and their family.
Shifting Gears is a four-week Veteran Family Program designed specifically for medically releasing CAF members and their families. Each module addresses both the why and the how of transition — from understanding the psychological impact of release to navigating benefits, rebuilding routine, strengthening relationships, and preparing for civilian life with intention.
Participants will gain:
-
A clearer understanding of the transition process
-
Practical tools to manage stress and uncertainty
-
Strategies to support family stability during change
-
Space to connect with others experiencing similar transitions
You don’t have to figure this out alone. Shifting Gears helps you move forward with clarity, confidence, and a realistic plan for your next chapter.
