Anyone with a CAF member in their life knows that a work-related absence can be challenging for both the serving member and loved ones who are left at home.
This event offers an opportunity for anyone experiencing or anticipating an absence to gather with peers and engage in resiliency-based activities. Children are encouraged to participate! Parents/guardians are required to remain onsite for the duration of the event.
This season, get organized! Instead of constantly asking yourself, "Who are my key contacts? Where are my important documents? Who do I contact about X,Y, or Z?...", create an absence binder to keep everything together and in one place for easy access. Upon attending, you will be provided with all necessary materials and the opportunity to customize your binder with sections that are specific to your family.
While the adults are building an absence binder, children will create show & share memory boxes to help keep everything they want to share with their CAF family member during check-in calls or at time of reintegration.
Participants who are not attending this event with a spouse or child(ren) are welcome to bring one guest if they would like. Additional guests are not permitted / Toute personne ayant un membre des FAC dans son entourage sait qu'une absence liée au travail peut être difficile à vivre, tant pour le membre en service que pour les proches qui restent à la maison.
Note: Our activities are primarily delivered in English, but we make every effort to help you access alternatives in French. If you face any barriers to joining us, let’s talk about how we can support you.
