Hands Capturing Light Against a Clear Sky
National Addictions Awareness Week : Anchoring Hope runs from 16-22 November

National Addictions Awareness Week: Anchoring Hope

National Addictions Awareness Week (NAAW), led nationally by the Canadian Centre on Substance Use and Addiction (CCSA), highlights ways to address harms related to alcohol and other drugs. It provides an opportunity for people in Canada to learn more about prevention, talk about treatment and recovery, and share solutions.

This year, NAAW takes place from 16 to 22 November under the theme Anchoring Hope. The theme recognizes the complexity of substance use health and the diverse experiences of individuals, families, and communities. It emphasizes the importance of optimism, connection, and evidence-based action in the face of ongoing challenges.

During NAAW, the PSP Health Promotion (HP) team will continue to build and strengthen relationships with key health partners to share relevant resources with the Defence community in the National Capital Region (NCR) and foster a supportive environment.

In collaboration with key partners, the NCR Messes, and the Hylands Golf Course, the HP team will host a variety of events designed to promote awareness, encourage dialogue, and support healthier choices. These efforts aim to deepen connections within the CAF community and reinforce a collective commitment to compassion, resilience, and hope.

We invite you to explore and share the resources provided below. Together, we can anchor hope and work toward a future of improved health and wellness for all.
